Travels With A Donkey In The Cévennes
Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes was one of my first travel books. This book takes you on a journey with Robert, his donkey Mosestine, and a mountainous area of France.
The landscape, the religion, and the people of 1870s Europe are all brought to life. Robert and his donkey aren’t friends at first, but they eventually become good travel companions.

Shantaram
Shantaram takes place in the underworlds of India today, where an Australian escaped convict named Lin hides out. He is searching for love as he runs a clinic in the slums of Bombay and works for the mafia.
This is one of the most well-written novels that I have ever read. It will draw you into a story filled with love, beauty, and brutality. Although the book has been criticized as being more fiction than true, I still recommend it to anyone looking for a good travel book. The book is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
World Walk
World Walk tells the story of Steven Newman, a newspaper writer who, aged 28, started a four-year journey around the globe on foot. He walked across 22 countries on five continents.

On The Road
