This Guide provides useful information for tourism operators and managers on best-practice processes to develop a risk management strategy for a destination or a business and how to implement the strategy and to maintain its effectiveness over time. It provides a practical overall framework from which a destination and/or a business can apply crisis management strategies for prevention, preparedness, response and recovery actions in relation to any event.
Three half-day training programs and all of the necessary supporting material, provide both a general overview to risk management in tourism and specific directions on the development of risk management strategies for destinations and businesses.
All of this material, which was developed by the APEC International Centre for Sustainable Tourism (AICST) in conjunction with STCRC, is available in English, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese.
