STCRC Researcher Info

Partnership Agreements

General Agreements

The relationship between the STCRC and its partner universities is governed overall by the initial contract with the Commonwealth government, which all partners signed in 2003, and by the STCRC’s Constitution and By Law 1.

Project Agreements

In addition to these, all research projects have separate project agreements. These project agreements are with universities, not with individual researchers.

Activity Reports

Project Coordinators must submit half-yearly progress reports on the research activities and financial statements summarising income and expenditure against budget, at the end of each financial year, and the end of the project.

ResearchMaster is the STCRC’s project management system and is located at: www.researchmaster.com.au/rmonline/

Research Progress Reports

All Project Coordinators are advised, via email, that progress reports are due to be completed. STCRC is required to manage all research projects so that agreed deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets. Projects that are not delivering as agreed may be cancelled.

Additional instructions for using ResearchMaster to complete your progress reports can be found here.

Financial Statements

Financial statements outlining income and expenditure to date, against approved budget items and amounts are due at the end of each financial year and at the end of projects. These statements should be completed on the STCRC Financial Template and submitted via email to the Finance and Administration Officer.

Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property (IP) created by all STCRC research projects is held by the STCRC as “Centre IP” (unless agreed otherwise in project agreements) and is recorded in our IP Register. The STCRC is required to both protect and effectively manage this IP in accordance with its IP Policy. The STCRC is responsible for all marketing, extension and commercialisation of Centre IP to industry and end users.

Publishing STCRC Funded Research

One of the primary objectives of the STCRC is to communicate the results of research to Australian tourism stakeholders. Another is to encourage academic researchers to publish and present their findings in appropriate journals and fora to highlight the scientific merit of their work.

Unauthorised public release of project information breaches agreements and policy. Written approval must be obtained in advance from the STCRC for any proposed public release, publication and/or presentation of STCRC project information.

The STCRC will not unreasonably withhold approval and would only do so if it was deemed necessary – for example, to prevent conflict with pre-arranged public release plans or to protect potentially commercial IP. In some cases, a delay in release may be acceptable.

To gain approval for publication of STCRC funded research please complete the STCRC Publication Approval Form. For more detailed information on IP and reports please see the STCRC Notice to Researchers.

PowerPoint Template

Where STCRC funded research is to be presented at conferences it must be placed on the STCRC PPT Template. Please note that ‘Arial’ font must be used and that logos of the relevant universities and/or other funding partners can also be included on the internal slides in the bottom left or right hand corner.

Should you have any queries or problems formatting your presentation please contact the STCRC directly.
